Chairman’s Report following the 25th Annual General Meeting

Our 25th Annual General Meeting and our final meeting of the 24th year was extra special and it was appropriate that the Director General of National Trust, Dame Fiona Reynolds, was with us on this auspicious occasion.

It was a wonderful experience and privilege to see her presentation and to listen to someone with such enthusiasm and obvious love for National Trust.  I am sure this enthusiasm rubbed off on many of us.  She came to Walsall from her holiday on Lundy Island and returned early the following morning.  We are all very grateful to her for making this such a memorable evening.

After the interval we were further privileged to have an update on Croome Park and Croome Court from Mike Smith.  He had opened the lecture season for us and then closed it in his usual informative and entertaining way.
